I am very happy to announce that on November 21, 2008, just 8 months after it’s official release, SkyBlueCanvas passed the 10,000 downloads milestone. I am extremely honored that you and so many others have expressed interest in my lightweight CMS. So allow me to say “thanks” for your continued support.
This is a very exciting time at SkyBlueCanvas. Our development team has grown to 4 full-time team members. The newest member of our team is Philipp Freidl, a software developer from Graz, Austria.
We are currently in the testing phase of v1.1 and have set a release date of February 1, 2009 for the new version. We are also working on the architecture for v2.0, which will be a complete re-design and re-write from the ground up. The next version will remain true to the “light weight, easy-to-use” philosophy but will introduce a lot of improvements in usability and performance.
One of the most noticeable enhancements will be a professionally designed user interface. The new interface will offer the standard HTML-only option as well as an Ajax-driven Rich Interface. The new interface will make managing a web site much more intuitive and efficient for you and or your clients.
We are currently conducting a funds drive to help cover the cost of hiring a professional UI designer. If you would like to contribute to this effort, you may do so by visiting http://skybluecanvas.com. No amount is too small and we are equally grateful for every donation to help our efforts in making SkyBlueCanvas Lightweight CMS the best in its class.
Thanks again for your support. We look forward to hearing from you and working with you in the new year.
